Initiatives for Research & Development (IRD) is research and consultancy-based firm that has been established by 5 “Founder Members” in 2019 in Bangladesh. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 Pandemic, the formal legal process of the firm was started after experiencing a tolerable situation of the Pandemic at the end of 2021. After a long break, in 13 February 2022, the IRD formally started to work at ground. Being a new established firm, the institution is just taking initiatives for undertaking research and capacity building events. As well, it’s just the stage to resource mobilizing. However, the founder members are post graduated from the reputed public Universities of Bangladesh with the academic background of Micro biology, Economics, Sociology, Social Works and Political Science. Members of this firm are engaged in development sectors more than 15 years in different arena especially environmental, public health, reproductive health, Water and Sanitation, forestry, education, livelihood, agriculture, disaster risk reduction as well in post disaster response, climate change, economic and social empowerment, gender promotion, community based legal services, entrepreneurs’ motivation and so on.

The IRD is encouraging development organizations, civil society organizations, individual firms and other institutions to be connected to get services on the following issues as primary focus:

• Conducting research 
• Writing EoI and project proposals
• Developing training modules, guidelines
• Developing organizational policies and manuals
• Conduct trainings on Logical Framework (Logframe), M&E, facilitation, project designing
• Organize workshops
• Writing annual reports
• Conduct evaluations
• Conduct baseline survey
• Provide human resources to conduct need-based survey
